Adorable marsupials with a love for gliding, sugar gliders are social creatures that require companionship of their own kind (ideally a pair). They have specific dietary needs, including a diet rich in insects, nectar, and fruits, and require large enclosures (minimum size recommendations vary depending on species) with climbing structures for exercise.  Their nocturnal habits and potential for noise can be disruptive, especially in apartment settings.  Regular veterinary care is essential, as sugar gliders are susceptible to specific health problems.  Ownership may be restricted in some areas due to concerns about proper care and potential for escape. Their lifespans are around 12-15 years.
