This is a great texture addition as well as a snack. Crabs love texture, and they dont have a lot of safe "soft" options. This can be placed in a food dish or around the habitat. My favorite use is inside a coconut or hide.
The Poplar tree or cottonwood tree is a nuisance to Alaskans, because every spring they bloom these sticky seed pods covered in cotton. The fluff floats around and gets everywhere. The sticky blooms get tracked everywhere, as the the tree produces a crazy sticky sap. But unlike most saps, its a safe, insecticide free sap. It attracts bugs and acts like a nectar.
I blend up this cotton, as its produced as a pod, with a stem. Blending it makes it fluffier. You may still find stems, it is not powdered.
